Itinerary
Day 1: Airport – Galle – Mirissa (Approx. 3 hrs drive)
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your local representative before proceeding south to Galle, the Heritage City. Explore the magnificent Galle Fort, first built by the Portuguese, fortified by the Dutch, and later preserved by the British. Wander along its cobblestone streets lined with colonial architecture, boutique cafés, and oceanfront ramparts that have withstood the test of time — even surviving the 2004 tsunami. Continue to Mirissa, a laid-back beach town perfect for your tropical escape. Lunch on own arrangement. Dinner & Overnight stay in Mirissa.
Day 2: Mirissa – Yala (Approx. 4 hrs drive)
Rise early with a packed breakfast for your unforgettable whale watching experience. Set sail from Mirissa Harbour towards Dondra Point — one of the world’s best places to see blue whales, sperm whales, and spinner dolphins during the season from December to April. The calm southern waters offer a 95% chance of sightings during these months, making this a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Light snacks will be served onboard. After lunch (own arrangement), continue eastward for an evening safari at Yala National Park. Explore Sri Lanka’s most iconic wildlife reserve, home to elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, and the world’s highest density of leopards. The park’s landscapes range from dry scrub to coastal lagoons, offering spectacular views along the Indian Ocean. Dinner & Overnight stay in Yala.
Day 3: Yala – Colombo – Airport (Approx. 5 hrs drive)
After breakfast, travel to Colombo for a panoramic city tour of Sri Lanka’s bustling capital. Discover a unique blend of colonial and modern architecture as you visit Fort, Pettah Bazaar, and Galle Face Green. Drive past landmarks such as the Old Parliament Building, Vihara Maha Devi Park, and Seema Malaka Temple, designed by the renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. Enjoy free time for shopping at ODEL, Liberty Plaza, and Majestic City, or explore local handicraft stores for souvenirs. Lunch & Dinner on own arrangement. After dinner, transfer to the airport for your departure flight — taking home unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka’s sun, sea, and wildlife.
