Colombo - Kitulgala - Nuwara Eliya
Rivers, Rainforest and Tea Country

Leave Colombo behind as you travel into Sri Lanka's lush interior towards Kitulgala, a rainforest region famous for its adventure activities and scenic river landscapes.

Adventure seekers can choose to experience white-water rafting along approximately 7 kilometres of Grade 2 and 3 rapids, perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. Additional optional activities include canyoning through natural rock pools, confidence jumps into clear waters and a two-way zipline soaring above the rainforest canopy. Afterwards, enjoy a refreshing river bath before continuing your journey into Sri Lanka's central highlands.

As the roads climb higher, the landscape transforms into rolling tea plantations. Visit a working tea factory to learn how Ceylon Tea is produced before arriving in the cool mountain town of Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as "Little England" for its colonial heritage.

Horton Plains National Park - Ella
Highland Trails and Scenic Railways

Start early this morning for one of Sri Lanka's most spectacular national parks. Horton Plains is a unique high-altitude plateau of grasslands, cloud forest and dramatic escarpments.

Your guided trek takes you to the famous World's End, where sheer cliffs drop almost 900 metres into the valleys below. Continue to Baker's Falls before returning to the park entrance.

From nearby Nanu Oya Station, board one of Sri Lanka's iconic hill country trains for the unforgettable journey to Ella. Passing tea estates, forests and mountain villages, this railway is widely regarded as one of the world's most scenic train rides.

Arriving in Ella, spend the late afternoon hiking Little Adam's Peak. The gentle trail rewards you with sweeping views across the Ella Gap as the sun begins to set over the surrounding mountains.

Summit Views and Waterfalls

Begin the morning with the rewarding hike to Ella Rock. Following railway tracks, tea plantations and eucalyptus forests, the trail gradually climbs to one of the finest viewpoints in Sri Lanka. From the summit, enjoy panoramic views stretching across the surrounding valleys and mountains.

After the hike, visit Ravana Falls before beginning the scenic drive back to Colombo.

Enjoy your final evening at leisure in Sri Lanka's vibrant capital.
