Your adventure starts at the magnificent Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park, one of China's most spectacular natural attractions. Ascend the mountain aboard the world's longest passenger cable car, stretching an impressive 7,455 metres from Zhangjiajie city to the mountain summit. The scenic journey takes approximately 30 minutes, offering breathtaking panoramic views as the landscape gradually changes from the bustling city below to lush forests, dramatic cliffs, deep valleys, and mist-covered mountain peaks.
Upon reaching the summit, stroll along the mountain pathways and take in the awe-inspiring scenery. The highlight of the visit is the iconic Tianmen Cave (Heaven's Gate), a colossal natural arch measuring approximately 131.5 metres high, 57 metres wide, and 60 metres deep. Formed naturally through centuries of geological activity, this remarkable opening in the mountain is regarded as a sacred gateway between heaven and earth, giving Tianmen Mountain its name, which translates to "Heaven's Gate Mountain."
