Spend a night in Hallstatt and experience its quieter side as the daytime visitors leave. Then travel through Innsbruck, where colourful buildings sit beneath an Alpine backdrop, before ending with two nights in Munich.

Your private transfer will meet you at Vienna Airport and take you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, ease into the journey with a gentle walk around the State Opera and historic centre.

Discover Vienna’s imperial past with a private guided visit to Schönbrunn Palace. When the weather allows, take time to explore its gardens too.

Visit the Upper Belvedere and explore its art collection before spending the afternoon enjoying Vienna at a gentler pace.

After breakfast, travel to Salzburg by private transfer. The drive takes approximately 3 to 3½ hours.
For a more leisurely journey, you can add an optional visit to Melk Abbey along the way. With the visit and lunch stop, allow approximately 5 to 6 hours in total.
On arrival, settle into your hotel before an evening stroll beside the Salzach River.

Visit Leopoldskron’s lakeside viewpoint, the gazebo at Hellbrunn and Werfen’s Do Re Mi meadow. When conditions allow, pause for an Austrian picnic with mountain and castle views.
A visit to Hohenwerfen Castle can also be arranged when it is open. During winter or poor weather, the outdoor picnic will be replaced with a suitable indoor alternative, with arrangements confirmed for your travel dates.

Leave Salzburg after breakfast and visit Mondsee’s wedding basilica before continuing through Austria’s Lake District.

As the daytime visitors depart, enjoy a quieter evening in the village and dinner overlooking the water.

Depart Hallstatt at around 8am for the journey to Innsbruck, allowing approximately 3½ to 4 hours of driving.
Spend around 2½ to 3 hours in the city, with time for lunch and a private Old Town walk. Discover the Golden Roof, Maria Theresien Strasse and the riverside before continuing to Munich, approximately 2 to 2½ hours away.
This is the longest travelling day of the journey. Allow around 9 to 11 hours in total, including sightseeing, breaks and traffic.

Begin with a private morning tour of Marienplatz, Frauenkirche and Viktualienmarkt, getting a feel for Munich’s historic centre and local food culture.
